The Operations Team at Campfire has a lot on its plate at all times. In charge of grant applications, tracking donations, volunteer management, updating the Mind Map, posting new social media content, and recruiting new staff and volunteers, it’s hard to believe that we still leave work every day with a huge smile and a belly full of coffee and cookies. Finance & Accounting Volunteers are in charge of the financial health of Campfire Innovation by administering accounting operations. Volunteers are responsible for the administration of day-to-day financial transactions and delivering needed documents and clear overviews to our external accountant.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Keep accurate records for all daily transactions
  • Prepare balance sheets
  • Process receipts and invoices
  • Update internal systems with financial data
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
  • Assist with budget preparation

Job Requirements:

  1. Experience with the refugee crisis preferred (but not necessary if the volunteer is available to volunteer at the same time in another organisation the field)
  2. Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures
  3. Advanced MS Excel skills
  4. Excellent analytical and numerical skills
  5. Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data
  6. Athens based.

Hours:
Time requirement: 5 to 7 hours per week.

The role of our Fundraising Volunteer is key to keeping the organisation moving forward! As a non-profit organisation, we rely on grants, private and company donations to keep us rolling, from our rent to our event costs.
You will work closely with the Director to connect with donors and promote the work of the organisation. We are looking for someone with the ability to help us diversify our sources of donations and keep Campfire Innovation growing.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Director in follow-up communication with potential funders or partners
  • Preparing presentations on our work and future plan in cooperation with the Director
  • Researching & identifying potential funding opportunities

Job Requirements:

  1. Previous fundraising experience and grant writing
  2. Strong organisational and communication skills
  3. Critical and analytical thinking
  4. Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and within a team
  5. Ability to quickly put together written documentation & PowerPoint presentations.
  6. Ability to react quickly to the ever-shifting needs of the refugee situation and of a startup team
  7. Experience with the refugee crisis preferred but not mandatory if the volunteer is available to volunteer at the same time in another organisation in the field
  8. Experience with Google Drive a must
  9. Currently located in Athens

Hours:
Minimum time requirement: 5 to 7 hours per week.
Part-time or full time

Without our volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to undertake most of our work, especially helping small and smart initiatives expand and professionalise, while they continuously provide crucial services to thousands of refugees and asylum seekers in Greece. The role of our Volunteer Coordination is key to our success keeping the organisation moving forward.
You will be working closely with the Director to shape our internal processes, coordinate a growing team and properly training the volunteers to be ambassadors for smart aid and efficient members of the CAMPFIRE Innovation team..

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the communication with interested and incoming volunteers
  • Organise the welcoming of new volunteers
  • Onboard volunteers to our communication platforms (create email addresses, log into Slack etc.)
  • Review the weekly availability of volunteers & manage time off
  • Organise weekly team meeting and keeping minutes

Job Requirements:

Hours:
15 to 20 hours per week.

The role of our Recruitment Volunteer is key to our success in recruiting the right talents and properly training them to be ambassadors for efficiency, innovation, and dignity in refugee aid.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Identify platforms to post calls for volunteers and attract volunteer applications
  • Assess the applications received for various positions within Campfire Innovation
  • Arrange and conduct interviews with potential volunteers
  • Recruit volunteers fulfilling the requirements
  • Oversee the communication with interested and incoming volunteers
  • Organise the welcoming of new volunteers

The IT Officer monitors and maintains the databases and networks of the organisation. The work of the whole team of Campfire Innovation is based on databases and IT tools that have to work properly.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Create new features for the admin interface of the database.
  • Find user-friendly solutions for displaying the database to other members of the team and to the organisations of our network.
  • Insert collected data from field visits in the database.
  • Apply GDPR regulation
  • Maintaining contracts with our service providers ( website, email)
  • Maintaining and making changes to our website
  • Creating credentials for incoming volunteers  

Job Requirements:

  1. Degree in Computer Science or 2-5 years working experience as a developer.
  2. Experience/Understanding of CRM, tech project development.
  3. Ability to use visualisation tools.
  4. Knowledge of Django/Python framework.
  5. Knowledge of WordPress (including front and back).
  6. Familiarity with databases, set up and servers.
  7. Experience/Understanding of data analysis and data management systems.
  8. Knowledge and experience on Heroku will be a plus.
  9. Experience with the refugee crisis would be an asset.
  10. Analytical skills and interest in research.

Hours:
Part-time in Athens; Minimum of 10 to 15 hours per week

The Social Media Manager is responsible for the digital accounts of the organisation. The main accounts are on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and the website. The volunteer will closely cooperate with both the operations and the field team.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Producing and scheduling weekly social media content
  • Monitoring and producing progress reports on social media activity
  • Promoting selected Campfire Innovation news and events on social media
  • Producing original blog posts to be published on the Campfire Innovation website
  • Monitoring and updating website content
  • Producing a weekly press review (not mandatory)

Job Requirements:

  1. Experience/Understanding of social media.
  2. Ability to deliver creative content.
  3. Experience with the refugee crisis would be an asset.
  4. Analytical skills and interest in research.
  5. Currently located in Athens.

Hours:
Minimum of 10 to 15 hours per week.

Our Social Media Team is looking for bloggers who will research topics and develop interesting posts that will appeal to our audience.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Research topics and propose ideas about blog posts.
  • Writing, editing and publishing content.
  • Collaborate with Social Media Team on media strategy

Job Requirements:

  1. Degree in Communications or related field
  2. Writing experience or familiarity within the refugee field and humanitarian aid
  3. Exceptional writing, research, and communication skills.
  4. Creativity
  5. Experience with the refugee crisis

Hours:
Part-time; 5-10 hours per week.
