Field Team

Our Field Team volunteers are the eyes and ears for us on the ground in Athens. They meet with organisations, attend important advocacy and impact meetings, send out our community newsletter, and are well informed about all things related to refugees in Greece. Campfire Innovation is creating a network of small & smart grassroots organisations providing humanitarian aid in Greece. The Community Management Volunteers are responsible for building contacts and maintaining relationships with the teams working in refugee response in the area of refugee response in Athens.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Identify grassroots organisations, NGO’s, teams of volunteers and local contacts.
  • Arrange visits and develop relationships with those organisations and teams.
  • Map all the active grassroots organisations in the area and identify if they can be considered Smart Aid projects and/or how they could improve their functioning.
  • Collect ideas for tools, how-to guides and case studies
  • Promote CampFire tools and services.
  • Organise monthly Smart Aid Gatherings (monthly showcase of successful projects and networking opportunity)
  • Update FB Community Group
  • Maintaining and updating the internal database

Job Requirements:

  1. Minimum 3 months experience with the refugee crisis, preferably experience from the field.
  2. Excellent communication skills, including intercultural communication.
  3. Confidence in interacting with other organisations and other members of the team.

Hours:
Minimum time requirement: 7-15 hours per week; Part-time or full time

Campfire Innovation was forged with a simple vision: innovative aid that effectively delivers dignified conditions to displaced people. Our mission is to identify small and smart models with a focus on dignified conditions, refugee empowerment and effective operations, and to support their growth.

We are a support system which connects these organizations to each other, provides easy to use capacity building tools and gives them access to resources.

  • Attending various coordination meetings (grassroots, ACCMR, UNHCR)
  • Participating in advocacy working groups with European reach and advocating for relevant issues

The Field Representative in places around Greece is a remoted volunteer whose main responsibilities are to create a weekly report about the situation in the area regarding the grassroots organisations and any information about changes, deportations, arrivals of refugees etc. The volunteer will be a member of the Field team and represents Campfire Innovation.

Hours:
Part-time; 2-5 hours per week
