Job Description:

Campfire Innovation is creating a network of grassroots organisations providing humanitarian aid in Greece. The Community Outreach Volunteer is responsible for building out contacts and maintaining relationships with the teams working in refugee response in the area of refugee response in Athens / Thessaloniki and its surrounding.

We are looking for individuals in Athens or Thessaloniki to visit various projects, to map the active organisations and to understand the needs and upcoming projects of the teams and to make them aware of our work.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 months experience with the refugee crisis, preferably experience from the field.
  • Excellent communication skills, including intercultural communication.
  • Confidence in interacting with other organisations and other members of the team.
  • Currently located in Athens / Thessaloniki / Lesvos or willing to relocate.
  • Driving license required.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Identify grassroots organisations, NGO’s, teams of volunteers and local contacts.
  • Arrange visits and develop relationships with those organisations and teams.
  • Map all the active grassroots organisations in the area and identify if they can be considered Smart Aid projects and/or how they could improve their functioning.
  • Recognise the needs and challenges of the organisations and find ways to support them in fulfilling those needs and facing those challenges.
  • Connect organisations across the network with the incoming resources to increase the capacity. (Pro Bono Expert Volunteer Program)
  • Prepare briefs describing in detail the organisation’s needs for the incoming pro bono experts
  • Collect ideas for tools, how-to guides and case studies and ensure their creation in cooperation with pro bono experts to be published online
  • Promote published toolboxes, how-to guides and case studies (capacity building opportunity for grassroots)
  • Organise monthly Smart Aid Gatherings (monthly showcase of successful projects and networking opportunity) or RefCamp events (workshops on specific topics run by pro bono experts or by members of Campfire Innov using the created toolboxes and how-to guides), inviting organisations and teams, possibly facilitating the event.
  • Assist in organising monthly Coordination Meetings

Hours:

  • Minimum time requirement: 5 – 7 hours per week

Job Description:

D & P Volunteers assess incoming requests for donations, support, partnerships for the teams we work with and research fundraising opportunities for Campfire Innovation.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience with the refugee crisis preferred but not necessary if the volunteer is available to volunteer at the same time in another organisation the field.
  • Previous fundraising experience required.
  • Confidence in interacting with donors and funders.
  • Experience/Understanding of writing funding applications.
  • Critical and analytical thinking.
  • Previous experience in due diligence or assessment of projects.
  • Athens based or remote.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and maintain contact with funders and donors.
  • Conduct assessment of incoming partners and projects.
  • Build relationships with CSR departments of companies interested in cooperating on the Pro Bono Expert Volunteer Program.
  • Liaising with the community outreach team to identify good matches on the ground.
  • Act as an advocate of different organisations and their needs, mainly in the field of capacity building.
  • Organise events in cooperation with external partners, invite diverse speakers and participants, communicate with media.
  • Pursue other funding and grant opportunities.

Hours:

  • Minimum time requirement or Remote: 5 to 7 hours per week.

Job Description:

Campfire Innovation’s social media channels publish unique content, interact with like-minded grassroots projects, connect volunteers to local resources, and report the most pressing issues concerning the world of grassroots humanitarian aid.

We are looking for volunteers for the media team who can produce content, whether in the form of posts or long-form blog pieces, that can thoughtfully engage with the issues that matter, as well as providing a platform to support other projects in the European grassroots community. As well we are searching for a volunteer who would be able to define media strategy, take care of the PR and branding of Campfire Innovation.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent writing skills
  • Experience/Understanding of producing and scheduling social media content.
  • Experience/Understanding of using analytics tools to monitor the progress of each social media channel.
  • Confidence in interacting with other organisations and using the social media channel as a networking platform.
  • Experience/Understanding of designing media strategies.
  • Experience/Understanding of branding strategies.
  • Familiarity with web design and publishing.
  • Understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics.
  • A keen interest in grassroots humanitarian aid, and a desire to research specialist areas to create unique, insightful reports for the Medium blog page.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Designing social media strategies and branding strategies.
  • Building positive relationships with other organisations, media and the public.
  • Producing and scheduling social media posts for the Campfire Innovation Facebook and Twitter pages.
  • Writing longer topical blog features for the Campfire Innovation Medium page.
  • Interviewing grassroots organisations and creating short written and/or video interviews to publish in the social media and blog
  • Monitoring the social media channels for relevant news or trends, responding to engagements with the accounts and providing updates to the rest of the Campfire Innovation team.
  • Analysing and reporting the monthly results for each social media channel for internal use.

  • Media strategy: 3-6 hours a week
  • PR: 3-6 hours a week

  • Webpage updating: 3-6 hours a week
  • Social Media content and reporting: 3-6 hours a week
  • Blog research and writing: 3-6 hours a week

Job Description:

Without our roster of volunteers, we would be unable to undertake most of our work, especially the implementation of new, innovative smart projects on the ground. The role of Volunteer Coordinator is key in our success in recruiting the right talent and properly training them to be ambassadors for smart aid and efficient members of the CAMPFIRE Innovation team.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong management & coordination skills
  • Willingness to research & identify new partners, ability to communication with organisations in the grassroots field and with corporate world.

  • Ability to quickly put together written documentation
  • Able to react quickly to the ever-shifting needs of the refugee situation and of a startup team

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Identify platforms to post calls for volunteers and attract volunteer applications
  • Assess applicants received for various position in CAMPFIRE Innov
  • Recruit volunteers fulfilling the requirements
  • Share relevant information before the arrival of the volunteers
  • Organise on-arrival orientation for new volunteers

Hours:

Part time Athens: 15 to 20 hours per week.

Job Description:

Finance & Accounting Volunteers are in charge of financial health of Campfire Innovation by administering accounting operations. Volunteers are responsible for administration of day-to-day financial transactions and delivering needed documents and clear overviews to our external accountant.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience with the refugee crisis preferred but not necessary if the volunteer is available to
    volunteer at the same time in another organisation the field.
  • Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data
  • Athens based.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Keep accurate records for all daily transactions
  • Prepare balance sheets
  • Process receipts and invoices
  • Update internal systems with financial data
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
  • Assist with budget preparation

Hours:

  • Time requirement: 5 to 7 hours per week.

  • Find user friendly solutions for displaying the database to the organisations.

Job Description:

  • Create new features for the admin interface of the database.
  • Find user friendly solutions for displaying the database to other members of the team and to the organisations.
